Every permitted development project is prioritized to determine its potential threat to storm water quality. Projects that receive a high priority ranking, in accordance with the city’s storm water standards questionnaire, are required to install permanent storm water treatment control BMPs to eliminate or reduce discharges of pollutants into sensitive creeks and water bodies. Property owners are responsible for ensuring that city approved treatment control BMPs are operating effectively and are adequately maintained.
Annually, property owners with responsible control of city approved treatment control BMPs must submit a completed verification form verifying that each treatment control device is operating effectively and has been adequately maintained. Additionally, high priority projects with city approved treatment control BMPs are subject to annual inspections by city staff to verify effective operation and maintenance.
