Utility Master Plans
City staff has completed an update to the utility master plans and they were adopted by the City Council in November 2012.
Water Master Plan
The Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD) Water Master Plan Update documents the existing water system facilities and demands, and identifies required improvements for build-out of the District’s service area. The water system analyses conducted as a part of this project and documented in this report were performed to identify existing deficiencies in the system, confirm facility sizing, and recommend a future capital improvement program (CIP) based on updated ultimate demand projections.
Recycled Water Master Plan
The Recycled Water Master Plan provides a detailed analysis of the existing recycled water distribution system hydraulics, the recommended recycled water distribution system and the ultimate recycled water distribution system. In addition, the plan provides predesign criteria for new recycled water pump station and recycled water storage improvements.
Sewer Master Plan
The Carlsbad Sewer Master Plan addresses the sewer facility needs of the City of Carlsbad wastewater service area which serves approximately 70 percent of the city. Sewer service to the southeast corner of the city is provided by the Leucadia Wastewater District or Vallecitos Water District. TheSewer Master Plan analyzed the existing sewer facility capacity and projected future facility needs based upon the city build-out growth projections and recommended a list of Capital Improvement Program sewer improvements.
