SMART DRIVING: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS & ALTERNATIVES

Description

DMV Senior Ombudsman Program & NCTD
The DMV has created the Senior Ombudsman Program in an effort to keep seniors driving for as long as they can do so safely.  The primary function of this program is to represent the interest of public safety for all Californians with a special interest in addressing the concerns of senior drivers. Join us to learn about the laws, regulations and your rights as a senior driver.
Representatives from the North County Transit District (NCTD) will also be here to discuss easy, alternative means such as their Transit Buddy program, which enable seniors to remain independent if their right to drive has been revoked or if they would simply like to gain the confidence to use public transit.
Transit savvy seniors, serving as Volunteer Transit Buddies, mentor other seniors and help them gain the confidence needed to travel safely within the North County utilizing the local BREEZE buses, COASTER and/or SPRINTER trains.  Free
