The Library Board of Trustees consists of five members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Members normally serve four-year terms and must be residents of Carlsbad.
Past meeting minutes
- Advises and makes recommendations to the City Council on matters relating to the operation of the city library system
- Recommends contractual arrangements and mutual agreements with other libraries, cities and the county for borrowing, lending and exchanging books and other publications
- Serves as liaison between the library and the community
- Reports the condition of the library to the City Council and the state librarian on an annual basis.
