Street lights 

To report a malfunctioning street light, please call 760-434-2980.  Be prepared to provide an exact location of the light (e.g., “in front of 1635 Faraday Ave.” or “on the east side of El Camino Real, third light north of Chestnut Ave.”).  Include your contact information, including a daytime phone number, so we can call you with questions.

The Storm Drain Maintenance Department maintains and inspects the public storm drain system. This is done on an annual basis. The public storm drain system consists of:
  • 3,600 total curb inlets/catch basins
  • 660 total outfalls
  • 750 total D-25s/ under sidewalk drain
  • 6 channels/drainage way cleaning
  • 6 CDS/continuous deflective systems
  • 5 desiltation basins/detention ponds
  • Annually sweep 19,800 miles of roadway
  • Litter pick-up /Solid Waste Removal

The city provides graffiti removal from the public right-of-way and public property. The public is encouraged to report graffiti such as paint, stickers, wax or any other markings on public property so they city can remove the markings in a timely manner. To report graffiti please call the 24-hour Graffiti Removal Hotline at 760-434-6700.
