Consider making a donation when registering for classes and activities - simply add it to the total on the order form.

Beyond having fun, children who participate in recreation programs learn life skills, engage in healthy activities and socialize in safe environments. Donations from community members allow local children to participate in camps, classes, aquatics and many other activities. Only Carlsbad families will benefit from donors' generosity.

Contributions of any amount are accepted. Just $150 will fund an Opportunity Grant for one child, providing priceless experiences.

About the program

Opportunity Grants give youth, ages 17 years and younger, the opportunity to participate in recreation classes, camps and aquatic programs that they may not otherwise be able to afford. Grants of up to $150 per child are made to low-income families that live in Carlsbad. Families must meet income eligibility requirements and complete a grant application with supporting documentation.

Applications are accepted between mid-April and December 31.  Applications will be available at all community centers and online during that time.
